If you have the 'user list' or the 'document list' open and you minimize the gobby window (by clicking on the taskbar entry) you can't maximize gobby again (by clicking on the taskbar entry). Only right click and "maximize" works.

What operating system are you using? I already registered this kind of bug with Microsoft Windows but could not figure out what is its cause. Either it is a bug in GTK+ or we tell GTK+ something we should not. Do you experience the same problem with other GTK+ based applications like inkscape?

The problem doesn't appear in Inkscape. But in the GTK Demos there is the problem too. Could it be that the toolbar windows are the problem?

Windows XP SP2 gtk 2.8.14 (rc1) gtkmm 2.8.1 (1) gobby 0.4.0rc1

What "toolbar windows" are you talking about? I will propably have a look at some inkscape sources when I find motivation and time to work on this issue.

Aren't the windows with just the X (to close it) called toolbar windows? Inkscape uses normal windows (e.g. the about memory window under Help) with minimize, maximize, close and there is no problem.

  • priority changed from normal to high
  • status changed from new to assigned
  • milestone set to Gobby 0.4.0

I am not familiar with the terminology of how windows are called. I will however try to have a look at this for the final 0.4.0 release.

Setting the window's type hint to UTILITY at least works on Linux/Metacity. I don't know about Windows...

Please reopen, if the bug persists.

Persists on windows, but inkscape has the same problems for me. Seems to be a GTK+ bug however.
