Marks next to the scollbar for modified lines

It is quite difficult to recognize changes which are above or below the current visible part of the document.

Eclipse has a feature, which may solve this problem: It has an additional bar next to the scrollbar which indicates compiler warnings, errors, todos as small colored dots. I think it would be very nice to have the same GUI in Gobby to easily see modified lines anywhere in the document.

The idea sounds interesting, but it is non-trivial to implement, and I would rather like to put that time into the successor of gobby.
