Split chat messages at newline characters

Description

The entry field for chat messages accepts pasted newline characters, however those are displayed verbatim when they are received. A paste looks ugly because there are not the usual timestamps and user indicators after the first line and one could fake chat messages of others by crafting the paste appropriately.
