Description

hi, i can't use gobby anymore cause i've installed pidgin on winxp. is there a way i can get around this? it says libxml2.dll is missing. there was a conflict between gobby and pidgin and i had to get rid of it in order to install pidgin. do you think you guys and the pidgin developers might work on a solution for this?

What did actually conflict? Why did you have to get rid of something? I don't think we can do much about this. Gobby just requires a valid GTK+ installation (which includes libxml2.dll). If it's just libxml2.dll and nothing else, you can copy it into the path where your gobby.exe is.

Did Pidgin install its own GTK+? If so, please look for a package that doesn't, because you have GTK+ already installed if you could run gobby before. If there is none, please ask the pidgin developers to (optionally) provide one, because it's stupid to have a complete GTK+ installation for each program requiring it.

copying the .dll from the pidgin directory seems to get rid of the problem. i'll let you know if anything else comes up.

i'm sorry but i forgot the details of the conflict, but it had happened while installing pidgin.

thanks
