gobby crash

Description

All the gobby versions crash when you want to "open document" or "save document" + it crash when you have host for more than 3 minutes...

I use vista so maybe its incompatible with vista? please fix this issue fast because i need gobby really hard :d

I'm using vist and having the same problem with opening and closing documents.

This affects the stable Gobby series (0.4.10), right?

I don't have Windows Vista, so I can't reproduce the problem. Therefore it's unlikely that it will be fixed soon.

Just for the record, valgrind does not show any warnings.

its from all the 0.3.x until the newest one.. they all crash.. and some lower than 0.4. version don't let youconect to other (it says acces denied everytime you want to connect) isn't there a way to fix this? if not.. can you recommend us another program so i can Lua Script with my friends?

The Gobby 0.3 series is not compatible with the 0.4 series. Does the same problem also happen with Gobby 0.4.91? Gobby 0.4.4 is known to work with Windows Vista. So I'm not sure this problem is Vista-specific.

I can't fix anything without knowing what the actual problem is. In this case, I don't know. I would need to be able to reproduce the problem, so I can investigate, but the problem does not occur on my computers, so I can't reproduce it either.

I'll maybe try setting up a Virtual Machine and installing Vista on it, so I can have a look at this, but this won't happen within the next two weeks, as I am rather busy until then.

Alternatives I know are Abiword, MoonEdit and SubEthaEdit.

Abiword is only for word documants, moonedit is only txt, subethaedit is for Lua (what i need) but it only supports Mac.. I need one for Lua that is for Windows Vista

A text editor like Moonedit should be sufficient for your Lua WoW scripting needs. If our answer does not satisfy you I suggest hiring somebody to fix your problems or to create an editor that does please you. It's open source, you are free to recompile the program and to provide backtraces for us to fix the problem.

I can't script C++ or whatever that script is to make the editor :p i'm only known with HTML, PHP and Lua :p but thx anyway

I cannot reproduce this with gobby 0.4.9 or 0.4.10 on 32bit Vista.

I installed Gobby (gobby-0.4.10.exe) on a new PC of mine (Vista) (32 Bit) and I cannot save files as others have described.

Too bad, I installed it on my LAN (Windows XP machines) and it works great ! Add some alerting features so my secretaries get messages when I add something and this is a great little small biz collaboration tool.

Maybe a doesn't work with Vista warning for the 4.x stable version would be helpful.

So this problem seems to only occur on Windows Vista, but not on all such computers but only on some. I'm still not using Windows Vista myself, and as long as I can't reproduce the problem there's hardly anything I can do about it.

If anyone for which the problem occurs can provide a backtrace of the crash, this might be helpful. But this would require building Gobby (and maybe libinfinity) with debug symbols on Windows.
