Automatically scroll down when viewing bottom of buffer

Reported by: cheetos1@… Owned by: armin
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Gobby Version:
Severity: normal Keywords: bottom scrollbar autoscroll buffer
Cc: Launchpad Bug:

Description

If you're looking at the last line of a buffer and somebody else adds a new line, Gobby currently does nothing and you have to manually scroll down many times if somebody is adding several lines. It would be nice if it automatically scrolled down if the scrollbar was already at the bottom. I can imagine somebody not wanting this to happen too, though, so it may be best to make it an option. Perhaps it could be a blank button at the bottom of the scrollbar that "sticks" when pressed.

Actually, the button near the scrollbar would probably be pointless. Just autoscroll if the scrollbar is at the bottom, and don't if it isn't.
