Turning Gobby into an IDE
|Reported by:||AlecTaylor||Owned by:||armin|
When I was first looking for a cross-platform, open-source UI Library I considered using GTK+, but then thought of the overhead [had experience with GIMP on Windows], and took it off my list.
Qt was the library I finally agreed upon, however the application I created ran very slowly...
Then today I started using Gobby, an excellent collaborative-editor with a tiny footprint!
So now I'm thinking to turn Gobby into a collaborative-editing IDE; complete with code-completion, cross-compiler, shared binaries, and a shared compiler with complete with debugger features (including breakpoints).
This project, if it goes ahead, will be a sister project to Gobby [working title: fooIDE].
Please tell me your thoughts of my idea, and if you'd be willing to join the project.
Thanks and all the best,
